As you will doubtless have heard, racing in Britain was suspended on Thursday following confirmation of three cases of equine influenza in vaccinated horses trained by Donald McCain.
Following the appearance of The Rocket Park at Ludlow on Wednesday, we have been temporarily put into isolation along with all other stables which had a runner at Wolverhampton on Monday or Ayr and Ludlow on Wednesday.
There are four stables on the Bury side of Newmarket in that category — Charlie Appleby, Marco Botti, Charlie McBride and our stable — and Jockey Club Estates have kindly arranged it so that we are able to use the Heath after the other stables have finished their morning exercise. This routine is likely to last only for a couple of days.
In accordance with BHA requirements, all horses in this stable will undergo a nasal swab tomorrow morning to be tested for equine influenza as a precautionary measure. All horses in the stable are vaccinated against equine influenza.
