Roy's Magnificent Seven

Good old Roy Rocket gave his owners Larry and Iris McCarthy and his many fans a day to remember when notching his seventh win at Brighton on Tuesday on his 50th career start.

Given a very polished ride by Ross Birkett, who has now won twice on Roy, he was dropped out the back in his customary whipper-in position before striking with a rattling run up the hill for home to a rapturous reception from the crowd.

Roy seems to have taken the race well and will return to his favourite track this Tuesday, this time in partnership with another old friend, John Egan. He may find it tougher this time around as he will be challenging over 10 furlongs instead of his preferred mile and a half, but he's sure to try his best, as always.
