Little Peter and Tarbat Ness each returned to the winner’s enclosure on consecutive days this week, with wins at Newcastle and Catterick.
Gina Mangan was in the saddle for both victories, with Little Peter adding to his bumper win with a proper Flat win over two miles of the Newcastle all-weather for his owner-breeder Justin Byrne.
Tarbat Ness, who won last year at Ffos Las, has been very consistent this year with a touch of seconditis - he has now finished runner-up on seven occasions – so it was great to see him back in front with a five-length victory at Catterick. He is likely to continue racing over hurdles this winter.
They take the stable’s record to 10 wins this year. We have run 11 individual horses and seven of them have won, with another three each being placed on multiple occasions. It has been very pleasing to see so many of the horses running consistently all year and we are very grateful to the support of all the owners connected to the yard.
