It was fantastic to see Das Kapital back in the winner's enclosure again after the lady amateurs' race at Haydock on 6 August.
It was the first time Amy Collier had ridden for our stable and we were delighted with the ride she gave one of our real stable favourites, who is a gentle giant and takes a bit of organising sometimes. Das Kapital has only had two starts this turf season and has now won and been runner-up so we hope that he can keep this consistent vein of form when there's soft ground around. He's likely to head back to Haydock for his next start.
We've been pleased with the horses lately, most of whom seem to be in great form. Hidden Pearl was denied at Yarmouth in a photo finish, just losing her race by a barely discernible pixel, and we would so like to see her get her head in front as she is a model of consistency and a proper little trier.
It has also been good to see Harry Cronjager's Broughtons Mission run well on both his starts for the stable, finishing third at Lingfield and second at Pontefract. Let's hope this upward progression continues for his next appearance.
